The petite village of Sury-en-Vaux, north of the legendary Sancerre vineyard Monts Damnés (the 'Hills of the Damned'), is where you'll find this extraordinary source of character-rich Sancerre. Flinty, pure, and lively, Sauvignon Blanc from the Pastou family estate, each vintage is a must-have white wine: light in alcohol, pure in flavor, and a great pair with just about anything you put on the table. This is one of the most significant values in Sancerre; the grapes are all Estate from 40+-year-old vines that are hand-harvested, gently fermented on their fine lees, and bottled unfiltered unfined. 2023 Paul et Jean-Marc Pastou Sancerre 'Vieilles Vignes'
Hand-harvested, it is fermented and aged on fine lees in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. It is then bottled unfined and unfiltered. It carries lime and lemon zest aromas, with a touch of flint (from the soils). On the palate, you find flavors of crisp pear, grapefruit, and kumquat.
