Bruno Giacosa's Barbaresco Riserva Asili comes from the Asili cru, one of the most prized vineyards in Barbaresco. The 1996 vintage produced classically structured, long-lived Nebbiolo, and this Riserva earned top marks from critics. Offered here in magnum, the ideal format for aging. Expect a perfumed bouquet of roses, red cherry, tar and spice, with great depth and firm but refined tannins that are now resolving into a long, elegant finish.
