Château de Coulaine is a family-owned estate with a rich viticultural tradition that has been in operation since 1300. Since 1988, Etienne de Bonnaventure has been responsible for viticulture and winemaking, expanding the estate to its current size of 12 hectares, all located on Chinon's plateaux. In 2014, his dynamic son, Jean, joined the family domain and took over the winemaking responsibilities alongside his wife, Tatiana. The vineyards are certified organic, and all grapes are hand-harvested. The winemaking process follows a non-interventionist approach. Coulaine's low yields (around 35 hl/ha) result in a deeply concentrated, savory, and succulent expression of Cabernet Franc. The wine features powerful aromas and flavors of red berries and cherries, accented by a hint of spice. On the palate, it offers silky, textural qualities that are full of energy and concentration.
