Léoville Poyferré is a Second Growth St.-Julien. Under Didier Cuvelier it became one of the Médoc's most opulent, flamboyant wines. The torrid 2003 vintage gave especially rich, ripe wines. The 2003 shows lush blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, chocolate and spice, with a full-bodied, velvety texture.
