Tyler Winery, founded by Justin Willett in Lompoc, is one of the leading Pinot Noir producers in the Sta. Rita Hills. The 2022 Estate Pinot Noir is sourced entirely from the estate's Mae and Fiddlestix vineyards, on clay loam soils with chert and Monterey shale. It went through an 18-day native-yeast fermentation with 33% whole clusters and was aged in French barriques. Critics call it one of the better regional bottlings in the Sta. Rita Hills: floral and layered, with crushed flowers, mint, orange peel and bright red fruit, and a silky yet taut palate with a lifted, pretty finish.
