For over a century, Poderi Fiorini’s vineyards have produced excellent wine from the heart of Italy.  The passion for viticulture led the estate to dedicate new energy to valorize the product of their territory, in the province of Modena.  The aim is to express its richness and vigor through the vines that have taken root in this land since immemorial time.

Poderi Fiorini’s most typical and native products are the Lambrusco and the Pignoletto.

Located in Savignano sul Panaro on the last strip of the Bologna hills, they have 3 important DOC (‘Controlled Denomination of Origin’): Colli Bolognesi (Pignoletto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Barbera, Sauvignon), Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Doc, and Reno Dop.

Nearly 80% of the vineyards have South-East exposure and are completely organic.  The vineyards covers 12 hectares, all worked by hand and manually harvested.  The goal for the future is to allow the land to become the focal point and not just a tool.

The name has a double meaning: Nebbia ( meaning 'fog' due to its turbid appearance), Felsinea which is the ancient name of the city of Bologna. Pignoletto is the typical white wine of Bologna and Poderi Fiorini's estate is right on the border of the two production areas of Lambrusco and Pignoletto. Nebbia Felsinea is produced with and ancestral method, non-classical one, with a second refermentation in the bottle, no disgorging, no 'liquer de tirage' and no residual sugar. the wine is usually bottled in March.

  • Fiorini sits on the border between the two production areas of Lambrusco and Pignoletto, the latter of which is the typical white wine of Bologna therefore in this case the name is suitable because the wine resembles fog due to the wine’s turbidity, or cloudiness
  • Produced using the metodo ancestrale (ancestral method) therefore the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, no disgorging, no liqueur de tirage
  • 0 g/L residual sugar
  • Approximately 500 cases produced annually

"This zippy Pignoletto frizzante is a ball of energy that once open jumps from the glass with white peach, tart green apple, fresh thyme and white flowers. The palate is electric with zesty notes of lemon, lime and grapefruit that are followed by quince, crushed stone and vibrant acidity. 92 points" The Wine Enthusiast
